Anju and Manju are twins separated at birth.Their nanny runs away with Manju while Anju is grown in her father's palatial house.After her parents death Anju life is made hell by her uncle Tribhuvan and wife Amba.While Manju is a street smart stage dancer and spends her time with Jaggu.Anju his about to marry Surajhe mistakes her being Manju.A twist comes when both the twins land up in each other's place.Where Anju comes in life of Jaggu and he is shocked by her sudden change. Whereas Manju lands up in Tribhuvan's house where she makes his life hell.And also creating a confusion of love triangle between Jaggu and Suraj.
Having read the previous negative review posted by Gunsha, all i can say is that she seems to have completely missed the point.<br/><br/>Chaalbaaz is an all out entertainer which shows no pretence of being anything other than a wholesome fun family entertainer.<br/><br/>This film has everything that is good about Hindi cinema, excellent songs, dialogue, action and above all side splitting comedy. Sridevi & Rajnikant fans won't be disappointed,they perform to the height of their iconic status'.<br/><br/>Chaalbaaz is a timeless masterpiece, a text book reference on what Hindi entertainment is. Though the film was made 15 years ago in an era when Shakti Kapoor & Anupam Kher weren't annoying & when Sunny Deol was able to give a restrained performance. It's brand of comic humour, far from appearing stale, comes across justfreshwhen it was 1st made (in fact David Dhawan could learn a thing or two on what REAL comedy is, by watching this). Definitely one of the definitive movies of the 90's.<br/><br/>Classic Scene : Shakti Kapoor mistaking Anupam Kher for the "Ghar ka naukar"<br/><br/>Watch it with friends & prepare to laugh your socks off!
Entertaining bollywood film based on the often repeated twins formula, mostly a remake of Seeta aur Geeta. The film shines due to some inspired comic villainy by Anupam kher and deft comedy by Rajnikant and Sridevi. There are no surprises but it remains fun to watch. It's no match for the Hema Malini 'original' and the songs are passable. Still OK. <br/><br/>7/10
